STYLE 3020 - CHEMARES TANK LID PACKING

Designed for use where the prevention of water ingress is as equally important as the prevention of spillage, Style 3020 can be used with tank hatches on ships, barges, road and rail transport. 3020 is resistant to acids, alkalis, oils, solvents, chemicals and edible products which makes it suitable for most known cargoes. Manufactured for Accord by a world leader in Marine Packings and Gaskets. The unique construction and properties of Style 3020 has made it the outstanding tank lid packing wherever chemical and solvent cargoes are carried.

It was developed in response to a growing demand for a universal tank lid packing, as a result of the dramatic increase in carrying of hazardous bulk liquid cargoes. Contains no asbestos. Provides an efficient seal that is resistant to all chemicals likely to be carried. Retains its resilience over many years. Meets all international regulations. Capable of "on-site" welding into a customized endless ring.

Unique construction. The center of 3020 Chemares is a core of special rubber for maximum chemical resistance. Around it is a protective layer of PTFE tape which is then surrounded by a thick cushion of defibrillated polypropylene that has corners constructed from the same materials braided into cords. Over the packing is a double layer of heavy duty PTFE tape with a final outer protection of braided PTFE yarn.

Style 3020 is very flexible and will deform or expand to fill slight irregularities in tank or lid grooves. It is available in square or rectangular section as required and can be supplied in long length coils; ready cut to length; or in customized ready made rings to match your tank lid specifications.

STYLE 90 - "RAMIE" FLAX PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1-1/2"; Temperature Limit: 212°F; pH Range: 6-8; Shaft Speed: to 1200 FPM.

Description: Square braided medium flax fibers paraffin treated and mineral oil lubricated.

Applications: General service packings recommended for cold water, cold oil and brine applications. Stern tubes, rudder posts and tail shaft liners and industrial applications where minimal shaft scoring rates are required.

Service: This packing has extremely low frictional characteristics where minimal shaft wear is essential. Style 90 is rot resistant and ideal for marine use, handling cold water, brine and cold oils.

STYLE 90T - FLAX PACKING WITH PTFE

Sizes: 1/8" to 1-1/2"; Temperature Limit: 265°F; pH Range: 5-11; Shaft Speed: to 1970 FPM; Pressure: to 300 PSI in rotary pumps, 450 PSI static.

Description: Unique square braided flax fibers impregnated throughout with PTFE to seal the fibers, surface treated with a special break-in lubricant and dry PTFE particles.

Applications: Rotating shafts, stern tubes, and rudder posts.

STYLE 325NA - SYNTHETIC FIBER, GRAPHITED AND LUBRICATED PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 340°F; pH Range: 4-10; Shaft Speed: to 2000 FPM.

Description: An interlock braid using carded synthetic yarns thoroughly impregnated with a special petroleum based lubricant and graphite.

Applications: General service packing that adapts well to worn or scored shafts often found in older equipment. It assures an excellent seal against steam, brine, oil and mild acids and alkalies. Well suited for rotary and centrifugal pumps and some valves.

STYLE 1200AF - NON-ASBESTOS HIGH TEMPERATURE VALVE STEM PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 1200°F; pH Range: 2-12; Shaft Speed: to 200 FPM; Pressure: to 2500 PSI static.

Description: Style 1200AF is interlock braided, using a special high-temperature fiber glass, reinforced with Inconel® and heavily lubricated with graphite.

Applications: General valves, control valves, rods, expansion joints.

Service: 1200AF is a firm, high density, non-asbestos packing. It is recommended for use in steam, most chemicals, mild acids and alkalies.

STYLE 2290 - PURE PTFE FILAMENT PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 540°F; pH Range: 0-14; Shaft Speed: to 1000 FPM; Pressure: to 215 PSI in rotary pumps, 3600 PSI static.

Description: 2290 is a firm and dense packing that is tightly woven to eliminate large voids. Each filament is thoroughly impregnated with PTFE dispersion before braiding. This serves as a sealant between individual fibers to prevent any leaking through the braid structure. Through a bleaching and shrinking process, all carbonaceous material has been removed and greater dimensional stability has been attained.

Applications: Designed for valves, expansion joints, reciprocating and rotary shafts handling corrosive chemicals, solvents, and gases, with exception of molten alkali metals.

Service: Especially suited for services where no organic materials or lubricants other than PTFE are allowed.

STYLE 2777 - SYNTHETIC FIBER PTFE IMPREGNATED PACKING

Sizes: 1/4" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 500°F; pH Range: 1-13 (except concentrated, hot sulfuric or nitric acid).; Shaft Speed: to 1950 FPM.

Description: Interlock braid synthetic fibers impregnated with PTFE. The individual fibers are lubricated using a special process that assures thorough lubrication for a longer packing life. This is a high performance packing well suited to applications where graphite impregnation may not be acceptable.

Applications: This packing can handle steam, water, acids and other chemical and solvent applications. Regularly used in chemical plants with reciprocating pumps.

STYLE 3100 - ARAMID FIBER PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 540°F; pH Range: 2-12; Shaft Speed: to 2950 FPM.

Description: Interlock braid using aramid filaments treated individually with PTFE suspensoid. The packing is also lubricated with a silicon-based compound for quick and easy break-in.

Applications: Centrifugal, rotary and reciprocating pumps, valves.

Service: 3100 is a durable packing able to withstand granular and abrasive applications. It is recommended for service in superheated steam, slurries, petroleum derivatives, solvents, chemicals and liquid gases.

STYLE 3300 - EXPANDED PTFE/GRAPHITE

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 540°F; pH Range: 0-14; Shaft Speed: to 4900 FPM.

Description: Interbraided PTFE/Graphite fiber, graphite particles encapsulated in an expanded PTFE matrix. Recommended for corrosive services that are suitable for graphite/PTFE.

Applications: Reciprocating and rotary shafts, valve stems.

STYLE 320 - FIBER YARN GRAPHITED BRAIDED PACKING

Sizes: 1/4" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 500°F; pH Range: 4-10; Shaft Speed: to 2000 FPM.

Description: Interlock braided using long, white fibers which are impregnated with a petroleum-based oil and graphite compound. After braiding, the surface is graphited.

Applications: A good general service packing that ensures an excellent seal against brine, contaminated, hot and cold water, saturated steam, oils, solvents and weak acids. Recommended for use in centrifugal and rotary pumps and low pressure valve stems.

STYLE 1200 - HIGH TEMPERATURE FIBER VALVE STEM PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 1200°F; pH Range: 4-10; Pressure: to 2500 FPM (in valve service).

Description: Style 1200 is a braid-over-braid square packing made of 95-98% white fibers yarn with a special alloy wire for added strength and resistance to higher temperatures. 1200 is thoroughly impregnated with a lubricant compound and finely dispersed particles of graphite. The finished packing is then coated with additional graphite particles which act as a surface lubricant.

Applications: 1200 is primarily designed for valve stems working on all ranges of temperature and pressure but it can also be used in expansion joints, turbines, general valving, and high-temperature slide valves.

Service: It is recommended for high-temperature valve stems working with saturated or superheated steam, hot, cold, contaminated, salt or potable water.

STYLE 2000 - FIBER/PTFE LUBRICATED PACKING

Sizes: 1/8" to 1"; Temperature Limit: 500°F; pH Range: 2-13; Shaft Speed: to 3000 FPM.

Description: Style 2000 is manufactured from selected long fiber white fibers yarns in interlocked construction. It is PTFE-Impregnated yarn-by-yarn and is surface finished with PTFE suspensoid. A break-in lubricant is added to reduce shaft wear and eliminate glazing at start-up. Note: Available with wire reinforcement.

Applications: Style 2000 is an excellent multi-service packing for a wide range of uses throughout a plant. It is recommended for use in steam, water, solvents, mild acids and alkalis and most chemicals in rotary pumps, valves, rods, expansion joints, mixers and agitators.

STYLE 400 - PURE FLEXIBLE GRAPHITE

Sizes: 1/64", 1/32", 1/16", and 1/8"; Temperature Limit: -328°F to 900°F air, 1200°F steam; Pressure Limit: 2000 PSI; Sheet Size: 39.4" x 39.4".

Description: A flexible graphite sheet. The expanded graphite flake particles are mechanically locked together and adhesive bonded and laminated to the requited thickness. Note: Available with 316SS foil insert.

Applications: Flexible graphite sheet has pressure-temperature sealability capabilities that are far superior to reinforced non-asbestos sheet products. It is resistant to chemical attack by virtually all organic and inorganic fluids with the exception of concentrated, highly oxidizing acids. Gaskets cut from flexible graphite sheet seal with low to moderated bolt loads and conform to irregular flange sealing surfaces with both smooth and coarse surface finishes.

Description: Remains pliable under service conditions and has low flow under bolting pressures. This compound does not readily creep or blow out under normal temperatures or pressures.

Service: An exceptionally good material for use against hot or cold water, air and low pressure saturated steam, not exceeding 50 PSI.

STYLE 2400 - PTFE SHEET

Description: Inert to almost all chemicals, it cannot be dissolved, and exhibits no moisture absorption. It is best known for its chemical resistance. Electrical properties are excellent. PTFE has an extremely low coefficient of friction. Very few materials will stick to it.
